What to expect when you apply

At Noah’s Ark, we know that looking for a new role is a significant decision. We are committed to making our recruitment process clear, respectful, and supportive from start to finish.

Our goal is simple: to help you understand who we are, learn more about the opportunity, and decide whether Noah’s Ark is the right fit for you — just as we learn more about you. This reflects our values of kindness, respect, quality, and optimism.

Before You Apply

To help us assess your application, have the following ready:

  • Your current resume/CV.
  • Relevant qualifications and registrations (where applicable).
  • Details of your work history.
  • Contact details for professional referees (if requested later in the process).
1

Application Review

Once you submit your application through our careers centre/candidate portal, our team will review your experience, qualifications, and alignment with the role requirements.

When applying, please include an up-to-date resume and complete the application form. Your responses help us learn more about your experience, interests and suitability for the role.

Depending on the position, you may be contacted by one of our recruitment partners or a member of the Noah’s Ark team for an initial conversation.

What we're looking for:

  • Relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
  • Alignment with the requirements of the role.
  • A genuine interest in supporting children and families.
  • Values that align with those of Noah's Ark.

To help us get to know you:

  • Tailor your application to the role.
  • Include a current resume/CV.
  • Highlight relevant qualifications and registrations.
  • Tell us what interests you about working at Noah's Ark.
2

Shortlisting

After reviewing applications, we identify candidates who best meet the requirements of the role and invite them to progress to the next stage.

We understand applying for roles takes time and effort. While timeframes vary depending on the role, we aim to review applications promptly and keep candidates informed throughout the recruitment process.

Application Tip: Make sure your application clearly demonstrates how your skills, experience, and qualifications align with the key requirements of the role.

3

Interview

Shortlisted candidates are invited to attend an interview with members of the Noah’s Ark team.

Interviews may be conducted in person, online via Microsoft Teams, or a combination of both depending on the role and location.

For some roles, we use a group interview format.

Our interview process is designed to be conversational and welcoming while helping us understand your experience, strengths and approach to work.

Topics we may explore include:

  • Your professional experience and technical capability.
  • How you approach challenges and problem-solving.
  • Collaboration and teamwork.
  • Alignment with Noah’s Ark's values and culture.
  • Your interest in the role and career aspirations.

Interview Tip: Think about examples from your previous work, study, or volunteer experience that demonstrate your skills, achievements, and approach to working with others.

4

Practical Activity (where relevant)

For some positions, we may ask candidates to complete a practical activity relevant to the role.

This helps us understand how you would approach real-world situations and provides an opportunity for you to demonstrate your skills and experience.

We'll provide clear instructions and plenty of notice if a practical activity forms part of the process.

Practical Activity Tip: We're interested in understanding how you approach a task or problem. Focus on demonstrating your thinking, experience and communication rather than finding the "perfect" answer.

5

Getting to Know Each Other

For some roles, preferred candidates may be invited to meet informally with key stakeholders or members of the team.

This is an opportunity to:

  • Learn more about Noah’s Ark and our culture.
  • Ask questions about the role and team.
  • Meet people you may work with.
  • Explore whether we're the right fit for one another.

We believe recruitment works best when both sides can make an informed decision.

Your Questions Matter: We encourage you to ask questions about the role, our culture and what it's like to work at Noah's Ark. We want you to feel confident that we're the right fit for you too.

6

References and Pre-Employment Checks

Before making an offer, we complete a range of pre-employment checks appropriate to the role. Depending on the role, this may include professional reference checks, a National Police Check, and other role-specific compliance checks.

If we proceed to reference checking, we will ask you to share your referee contact details by completing a secure online form.

Preparation Tip: Before this stage, consider letting your referees know they may be contacted and ensure their contact details are up to date.

7

Offer of Employment

If you're selected as the preferred candidate, we'll contact you to discuss the offer and answer any questions you may have.

Once the offer is accepted, you'll receive your employment documentation electronically for review and signature.

Questions Welcome: We encourage you to ask any questions you may have about the role, conditions of employment or onboarding process before accepting an offer.

8

Onboarding

Before your first day, we'll guide you through our onboarding process to help you get ready to start your journey with Noah’s Ark. These activities are completed online via the careers centre/candidate portal.

Depending on your role, this may include:

  • Working with Children Check (Employee).
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • Professional registration verification.
  • Qualifications and right to work in Australia.
  • Identification and employment documentation.
  • Payroll and superannuation information.
  • Other role-specific requirements.

Due to the nature of our work with children and families, employment with Noah’s Ark is subject to meeting our compliance and safeguarding requirements.

Our aim is to make the process as straightforward as possible so you can focus on looking forward to your new role.

Getting Ready: Completing onboarding tasks promptly will help ensure you're ready to start and can focus on settling into your new role and team.
