FAQs: Accessing our Services

We know it can be frustrating to hear there’s a wait before your child starts receiving services. Many families request support at the same time, which means we need to match requests with availability. Our waitlist process ensures each family is treated fairly so we can match children with the right service.

Everyday Learning & Therapy Waitlist Info

Having a waitlist helps us:

  • Track every family who is waiting, so no one gets overlooked.
  • Prioritise children with more urgent or higher needs.
  • Offer places consistently and fairly, rather than “first in, first served”.
  • Stay in touch with families while they wait, sharing resources, workshops, and information.

We understand waiting can be stressful, and we don’t want families to feel left in the dark. That’s why we keep in touch through our newsletters, updates, and direct communication when a suitable space opens. Our goal is to get your child the right support as soon as we can.

Being on a waitlist can be tough, especially if you don’t know what to expect. Here are answers to common questions so you know what’s happening and what comes next.

Joining the Waitlist

  • Register Your Interest form.
  • We’ll email you to confirm your child has been added to the waitlist.
  • You’ll start receiving our monthly newsletter with updates, resources, and opportunities for families.

Yes. Professionals can refer, but we’ll still need to confirm details with you as the parent/carer. We don’t need to receive referrals from these professionals, though. Families are welcome to self-refer.

Yes, you can join multiple lists if you’re interested in different services. Simply tick the boxes that apply in the Register Your Interest form.

While You’re Waiting

We’ll send monthly newsletters with resources, and opportunities for families. You may also receive invitations to workshops, groups, or community events. Here’s a sample of our monthly newsletter so you’ll know to look out for it.

Our newsletters and other communications to you will arrive via our hello@noahsarkinc.org.au email address, so you might like to add this to your safe senders list.

At least once a month through our newsletter. We’ll also contact you directly if a space becomes available.

We can’t give you an exact number or position because places depend on service type, child’s needs, and available staff. But you’re welcome to reach out for an estimated update. Please feel free to call us on 1800 819 140, or email us to enquire about an estimated waiting time.

Please let us know. Changes in needs may affect the type of support you may need. To keep us updated, you can email us or call us on 1800 819 140.

Absolutely! Just let us know if your phone, email, or address changes. To keep us updated, you can email us or call us on 1800 819 140.

Yes. You don’t lose your place by trying other supports. We will let you know if we have spaces available, and you can choose which supports you access.

Yes! Please feel welcome to connect with other services and register with them. We want you to get services as quickly as possible, and sometimes that means being on more than one organisation’s waitlist.

Yes! If you browse this website, you’ll find workshops, online resources, and information about other supports. If you follow us on Facebook, Instagram, or LinkedIn, we share ideas and opportunities there as well.

How the Waitlist Works

We balance fairness with urgency. Priority may be given to:

  • Children with higher or more immediate needs.
  • Babies and toddlers.
  • Families in certain priority groups.

We match services to each family’s needs and available openings. There are many factors affecting availability, like the geographical location, times you’re available, and the skill sets of our staff.

No. We don’t allocate spaces based on funding. You can access our services with either NDIS or private funds. We aren’t able to access Medicare or use private health insurance funds to cover the costs of the service. You can find more detailed information about fees here.

In some cases, yes. If your family already uses our service for another child, we can sometimes add support for a sibling without too much hassle. Please speak with your Therapist or Team Leader if this applies to your situation.

Understandably we can't provide estimated wait times as we take care in matching prospective clients with the relevant service. If you need support within a specific timeframe, let us know. More detail than less really helps. We commit to keeping you updated regularly so you know what’s happening.

When a Spot Becomes Available

  • We'll email you forms that will help us understand what you need.
  • You’ll complete these forms so we can confirm our availabilities are the right fit.
  • We’ll set up an intake appointment with you.

Don’t worry, we’ll follow up with you. If we can’t reach you after a few attempts, we may offer the spot to another family. If we don’t hear back from you at all, we will assume you no longer need our support.

If it’s not a fit, you can choose to stay on the list to wait for a future opportunity, or you can try another service.

Yes. If your family isn’t ready right now, let us know and we can pause your place until you tell us you’d like to continue.

Managing Your Place on the Waitlist

Just let us know so we can remove you from the list. If we reach out and don’t hear back, we’ll assume you’re no longer interested.

Yes! Families can rejoin if they need services again in the future.
